Scholarship Opportunity: the UAMS College of Nursing proudly announces a new scholarship opportunity for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students and Nurse Practitioner (NP) students.
Program Training and Opportunities:
- Enhanced training opportunities
- Rural health
- SUD
- SDOH
- Mental Health
- Telehealth
- Preceptor and Academic Clinical Partnerships
- Enhanced skills for the clinical experience
- These will come through didactic, simulations, and clinical training opportunities.
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a licensed registered nurse (RN).
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible.
- Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
- Be enrolled full time in an advanced nursing education program: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPC), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH), or Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
- Part-time students will only receive funding during their final year of the program.

Scholarship application includes:
- Demographic Data
- HRSA Disadvantaged Student Information
- Identification of county of residence in AR
- GPA
- 500-word (or less) essay delineating plans for graduation
- Financial need documentation (tax returns)

Requirements once accepted:
- Meet with retention specialist once a semester (can be in person or virtual)
- Maintain GPA 3.0
- Sign a contract stating that:
- you will participate in program requirements;
- you will complete program evaluations; and
- you will provide demographic information, NPI, and employment information for at least one-year post-graduation.
