The College of Nursing is currently accepting applicants to only the nurse administration and nursing case management tracks of the master’s program. The nurse administration and nursing case management plans of study can be taken full-time or part-time. A sample part-time plan of study is shown. Note: Courses may be offered in different semesters depending upon cohort size.
Post-master’s nurse practitioners desiring a second nurse practitioner specialty certification may apply to our certificate or DNP programs. Student currently enrolled in the master’s program may have increased clinical hours and credits due to changes in the AACN Essential and NONPF criteria.

Nurse Practitioner Master’s in Nursing Science
UAMS CON is no longer admitting to the MNSc program for nurse practitioner education. A generic plan of study for current students in the master’s in nursing science nurse practitioner tracks is shown below.
There are six specialty nurse practitioner tracks: Adult-gero acute care (AG- ACNP), adult-gero primary care (AG-PCNP), Family (FNP), acute care pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP-acute), primary care pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP-acute), and psychiatric mental health (PMHNP).
The specialty courses are designated as specialty theory and specialty practicum I, II, and III (with spring, summer, and fall semester offerings, respectively). Of note, some nurse practitioner specialties require an additional theory course (PMHNP), others require epidemiology (PNP-acute and primary care; FNP), while others require an elective (AG-ACNP, AG-PCNP) require an additional theory course.
