Students who are currently enrolled, returning, and/or who have applied for admission to the Bachelor of Science Nursing program (accelerated & traditional), the Master of Nursing Science program, the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, or the PhD in Nursing program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing are encouraged to investigate possible sources of loans and scholarships. All students are encouraged to submit applications. Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria. Some are financial needs while others are academic excellence or other criteria such as a specific type of nursing interest.

Eligibility and Requirements
- Scholarships are available for students currently enrolled, returning, or who have applied for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (Accelerated & Traditional), Master of Nursing Science program, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, or PhD in Nursing program at UAMS College of Nursing.
- Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria, including financial need, academic excellence, leadership qualities, or specific nursing interests.
- Ineligible: UAMS employees receiving financial support for school (including UA tuition discounts or UAMS education contracts). This does not apply to loans or scholarships from external agencies (e.g., Graduate Nurse Loan Program,etc.).
- Students must be degree-seeking. Post-master’s certification and non-degree-seeking students are not eligible.
Application Requirements
- Previous year’s (2023) tax returns are required.
- All required tax documentation must be uploaded to the scholarship portal.
- Dependent applicants must submit both their own and their guardians’ tax returns.
- Applicants unable to secure tax returns must contact the IRS for a tax transcript.
- Applications received past the deadline or incomplete applications will not be considered.

- Most scholarships are awarded for fall and spring semesters, except for fully funded scholarships.
