Nursing Undergraduate Faculty

Education Faculty

This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position with the option for non-tenure or 1 – tenure-track. The candidate will assume teaching responsibilities within the undergraduate and graduate programs and engage in the scholarship and service missions of the College of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or higher nursing degree required. A doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Current unencumbered RN or advanced practice nursing license with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.
  • Three (3) years minimum teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program is preferred.
  • Recent ICU/Trauma experience preferred.

Clinical Instructor NWA A-BSN

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or higher nursing degree required. Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Current unencumbered RN or advanced practice nursing license with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.

Assistant Professor – Practice FNP/PMH

This is a 12-month, full- or part-time faculty position. The candidate will assume teaching responsibilities within the DNP and MNSc programs while also engaging in the scholarship and service mission of the College of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing. Terminal degree (Ph.D. or DNP) in nursing, preferred
  • Unencumbered license as a certified registered nurse with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas; APRN licensure, current certification in FNP or PMH specialty, and prescriptive authority
  • Two (2) years teaching experience at the graduate level, preferred
  • Demonstration of scholarship related activities (published manuscripts, abstracts at conferences, grant funding), preferred

  • Doctorally prepared (Ph.D., DNP, DNAP, EdD) in nursing
  • Current certification or recertification by the NBCRNA
  • Unencumbered RN and APRN license with eligibility for RN and APRN licensure in Arkansas
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience as a practicing CRNA

Clinic Instructor – Practice AGACNP-BC

This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position. The candidate will assume teaching responsibilities within the DNP and MNSc programs while also engaging in the scholarship and service mission of the College of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing, is required.
  • Unencumbered license as a certified registered nurse with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas; APRN licensure, current national certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC), and current prescriptive authority.
  • One (1) year APRN practice experience with expertise in the management of adults across the lifespan in a hospital or specialty clinical setting.
  • One (1) year teaching experience at the graduate level, is preferred.
  • Two years serving as a preceptor for APRN students.
  • Demonstration of scholarship related activities (published manuscripts, presentation of abstracts and/or posters at conferences,  grant funding), preferred.

Nursing Science Faculty

We are seeking to recruit an individual at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level to an academic appointment as a Nursing Scientist in the College of Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This is a tenure-track, 12-month, full-time faculty position.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must hold a PhD in nursing or a related field. If the doctoral degree is not in nursing, then a master’s degree in nursing is also required.
  • Candidates must hold an unencumbered RN or advanced practice nursing license with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.
  • Other required qualifications include teaching experience in a nursing program, with graduate-level teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, a robust publications record, presentations at scientific conferences, and evidence of extramural grant funding are required.
  • The candidate will assume teaching responsibilities within the Graduate Program and pursue a program of funded research. Evidence of an existing program of research is desired.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a scholarly focus in oncology, gerontology, pediatrics/adolescent health, psychiatric mental health, or genetics/genomics.
  • A cross-cutting focus on rural health and health disparities is strongly preferred.
