Krystal Royster (right) attended the Arkansas Hospital Association Auxiliary board meeting on September 10 to express gratitude to members for the two scholarships they provided to the College of Nursing. Krystal was the recipient of both their endowed and general scholarships. Krystal told board members that their generosity has made it possible for her to move forward with her plans to pursue a BSN degree. A senior, Krystal plans to later pursue her Master’s and then PhD so she can be a nurse educator, hopefully at UAMS. Krystal is from Little Rock and entered our BSN program with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UALR. The mother of two, Krystal also works as a student nurse at the VA. “I stay busy,” she said. Shown with her are Brenda Scisson (left), Executive Director for Development for the College of Nursing, and Pat Lavender (center), co-chair of the scholarship committee for the hospital auxiliary. The auxiliary also supports the UAMS College of Health Professions with scholarships.
