Rebecca Luther, MNSc student, thanks donors for providing scholarships to nursing students such as her. She is the recipient of the Dr. Beth Vaughan Wrobel Endowed Scholarship.
The UAMS College of Nursing celebrated 71 donors who made possible 122 scholarships to the College at its 18th annual Donor Dinner on November 3 at the Wyndham Riverfront in North Little Rock. A total 187 people attended.
Five students – Laila Litonjua and Sarah Bean, both BSN students; Rebecca Luther, MNSc student; Kimberly Hayman, PhD student; and Gianna Grant, DNP student — provided remarks about how meaningful the scholarships were to them. Lance Burchett, UAMS Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement, provided the keynote remarks. Dean Lorraine Frazier welcomed the crowd and provided heartfelt remarks of gratitude.
A video, featuring four College donors was premiered that evening. It featured Dr. Frances Dalme, Mrs. Darlene Giffin, Dr. Nicholas Lang, and Mrs. Jane Wilson. Musical entertainment was provided by Evangeline Parker-Guest, who sang God Bless America for the opening blessing, and Arkansas, You Run Deep In Me to end the evening.
