Dr. Karen Meneses, Co-leader of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program at University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center, was the guest speaker on Aug. 25 at the Frances Dalme-Linda Rickel Distinguished Visiting Lectureship in Oncology/Community Health. The lecture is housed in the UAMS College of Nursing. Dr. Frances Dalme, longtime faculty at the College of Nursing and a community health nurse, established the lectureship which also honors the work of Dr. Linda Rickel, who is one of the first oncology nurse specialists in Arkansas and retired from Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
