April 7, 2016 | Brittany Beasley, BSN, RN, a student in the UAMS College of Nursing BSN-PhD program, has been named as a scholar in the Jonas Nurse Leader Scholars Program for the 2016-2018 cohort.
As part of this award, she will receive financial assistance plus travel money to attend the Jonas Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. This is the UAMS College of Nursing’s’ fourth student to be honored as a Jonas Scholar, joining Paul Ropp, Linda Tate and Kerry Jordan.
As a recipient of the Jonas Scholar Program, Beasley is part of a national effort to stem the faculty shortage and prepare future nurses as America’s health care system continues to evolve.
“It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar program,” said Beasley. “With this support, I will be able to accomplish my academic goals and build my leadership skills through course work, mentorship and the conference.”
After graduation, Beasley plans to teach nursing and continue her research in telemedicine intensive care outcomes.
