On August 15, 2015 the very first annual meeting of the Arkansas Nurse Practitioner Association (ANPA) at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock, Arkansas was attended by 23 of the UAMS College of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students. These FNP students had the opportunity to network with NPs from all over the state. They also heard Brittany McAllister, State Governmental Affairs Specialist for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Governmental Affairs Team, speak on “Advocating for Your Patients: From the Clinic to the Capitol.”
