About the Program
Certificate program work is available for individuals who have previously earned a master’s or DNP degree in nursing. The Certificate program provides the coursework required to sit for an additional certification exam. This program is available for all current nurse practitioner specialties offered by the UAMS College of Nursing, as well as Nursing Education. Applicants are non-degree-seeking students and may take classes on a space-available basis. If the applicants are lacking core or foundational courses in addition to the certificate specialty courses, additional courses may be required. All applicants are required to complete a minimum of 750 clinical practice hours over three semesters.
