A happy meeting took place last Thursday, July 17, at the UAMS College of Nursing at the College’s Advisory Board meeting. One of the students who spoke to the Advisory Board was Tacara Anderson (center). Tacara is the recipient of the Richard Monroe and JoAnn Hennessy Smith Endowed Scholarship. Richard and JoAnn are shown here with Tacara. The scholarship is awarded to students seeking a BSN who demonstrate academic excellence and are either U.S. military veterans or are seeking a career in the military. Tacara has served in the Air Force and is currently a member of the Air Force National Guard. The Smiths are both U.S. Navy veterans and former faculty members of the UAMS College of Nursing. In addition, they both serve on the UAMS College of Nursing Advisory Board. All College of Nursing scholarship recipients will have a chance to meet their donors at the College’s annual Donor Dinner set for November 10 at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock.
