At a recent ceremony at the UAMS College of Nursing, we thanked donors who made it possible for all students in the inaugural Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program to receive a full scholarship. The greatest help came from the bequest of Mrs. Johnnie Moum. Mrs. Moum’s estate gift to the College provided dollar-for-dollar matching funds for each of the 19 scholarships. This meant each donor’s gift was doubled! Shown at the podium is College of Nursing Advisory Board member Benni Fambrough, who served as Director of Development at the College when Johnnie Moum and her husband Howard were alive. Mrs. Moum’s nephew John Allison (left) and Mrs. Moum’s niece Ann Harris (right) attended, each receiving a thank you card signed by all 19 DNP students.
