Admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program

The graduate curriculum of the UAMS College of Nursing leads to the Doctor of Nursing Practice. Admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is selective and competitive. Candidates are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible as it can take six (6) weeks or longer to complete the evaluation process.

Note: Students applying to the Nurse Anesthesia Track of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program are required to complete two applications â€” one through UAMS and one through NursingCAS. Further information in the section below.

Application Important Dates

Applications to the UAMS Doctor of Nursing Practice Program open on October 1. Begin the application process today.

The deadline for the Nurse Anesthesia Track of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is November 1. The deadline for all other tracks of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is March 1. These deadlines are students wishing to be considered for admission the following fall semester.

Interviews dates will vary by specialty.

Additional UAMS Services

Students have the responsibility to self-identify as a person with a disability with a need for accommodation(s).

  1. Students should submit all requests for adjustments, including auxiliary aids, to the ADA / Disability Services Coordinator. It is recommended that students thoroughly review technical standards, course descriptions, and the applicable syllabus to determine if accommodations may be needed

  3. Upon receipt of the request and any associated documentation, the ADA Coordinator will contact the student to schedule an interview.
