Are there any classes that I will need to take before I apply to your program?
A list of prerequisite course information can be found online on this website.  Testing out of some prerequisite courses at your local college may also be an option for you.

How many classes do I take per semester for the RN to BSN program?
Part-time students typically take 3 hours.  Full-time students typically take 6 hours.

What should I do to apply to the Accelerated RN to BSN or RN to BSN/MNSc program?
First, you must be a licensed RN. Please review the Accelerated RN to BSN or Accelerated RN to BSN/MNSc program information and admission requirements on the website, we recommend you read the Accelerated RN to BSN or RN to BSN/MNSc page to familiarize yourself with the admission and prerequisite requirements. If you need your transcripts to be reviewed to make sure you have met all prerequisites, please email, mail, or upload unofficial transcripts to conadmissions@uams.edu.

What if I have met all prerequisite courses?

What are the deadlines to apply?
The online program admits students for Spring, Summer and Fall, with the deadlines as follows:

RN-BSN Application Deadlines

  • Materials due – March 1 for summer admission (May start)
  • Materials due – June 1 for first fall session (August start)
  • Materials due – September 1 for second fall session (October start)
  • Materials due – November 1 for first spring session (January start)
  • Materials due – January 1 for second spring session (March start)

Do online courses cost more than traditional courses?
The online courses cost the same per credit hour as regular courses.  Current tuition cost information can be found on this page by clicking on the tuition and fees schedule on the right.

Who do I talk with if I am interested in taking online courses in the Accelerated RN to BSN or RN to BSN/MNSc program?

Are all classes online? When would I have to come to UAMS?
RN-BSN classes are online and do not require on campus attendance. Some masters (MNSc) courses occur both online and face-to-face.

Would my working hours count as my clinical time during the semesters?
Work hours cannot count as clinical practicum hours. The clinical practicum experience will be facilitated by the course faculty and preceptors.

After I finish the BSN component of the RN to BSN/MNSc program, am I automatically admitted into the master’s program?
Upon completion of the BSN courses, you will enter the applicant pool with other master’s applicants. Admission to the Master of Nursing Science (MNSc) program is competitive and will be ranked by the GPA calculated from the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework.
