Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Hope Campus

Welcome to the College of Nursing’s off campus BSN campus in Hope Arkansas.

An extension of the UAMS College of Nursing‘s Little Rock campus, we are located on the campus at the University of Arkansas Community College (UACCH). UACCH is located on Arkansas Highway 29, at the southern city limits of Hope. The College is 32 miles east of Texarkana and 110 miles west of Little Rock. The Off-Campus BSN Program is housed in the Rapert Library at UACCH. Faculty offices are located in LB 130-139.

Our partnership with UACCH provides Southwest Arkansas with vital resources to enhance leadership in education, economic development, and community service. The graduates from our Hope BSN program provide the southwestern section of Arkansas, Northern Louisiana, and East Texas with baccalaureate prepared registered nurses (RNs) to take on leadership and management roles in rural hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and other health care environments. Many of the Hope graduates continue their education in the UAMS CON Masters of Nursing Science program and work as nurse practitioners (APRNs) in the rural clinics serving the citizens of Southwestern Arkansas.

The BSN students on the Hope campus follow the same plan of study as the students on the Little Rock campus. The students also have courses that are taught from faculty on the Little Rock campus via telecommunications, as well as are involved in clinical simulation experiences that mimic the simulation training on the Little Rock campus. The faculty on the Hope campus provide simulation experiences so that students can become proficient with clinical skills in a safe environment that does not compromise patient care. Clinical experiences are provided in multiple healthcare facilities in Hope, Texarkana AR, Texarkana TX, Nashville AR, and Prescott Arkansas. Students are occasionally required to come to the Little Rock campus to participate in Interprofessional Educational Experiences.

The students on the Hope campus are involved in community service and professional group activities on a local, state and national level. The Hope campus has its own chapter of the Arkansas Student Nurses’ Association (ANSA).

Admission to the program at Hope is very competitive and each year there is a limit to the number of students that are accepted on this campus. To learn more, please visit the following links:
