The
Administrative Staff Council was
established in May, 1996 by the College of Nursing Dean. The membership is
composed of program assistants, management project analysts, administrative
assistants, secretaries, and other support staff of the University of Arkansas
for Medical Sciences, College of Nursing. The purpose of the council is to
serve as a forum for collaboration, exchange of ideas and information; to review
and approve actions and recommendations of committees and task forces; to review
and develop processes and procedures related to council organization and
administrative staff roles and functions; to select council members for awards;
and to advise the Dean of overall planning, recommendations, policy, and
administrative issues related to the council.
Each year
the Council elects a chair, a chair-elect, and a secretary.
These officers make up the Executive Committee of the Council.
The chair prepares an agenda and presides at the monthly meetings.
The chair-elect assists the chair, as needed, and conducts meetings
in the absence of the chair. The secretary records the minutes
of the monthly meetings and distributes e-mail copies to the
members.
