Our program was funded as the Southern Gerontological Nursing Certificate Program (SGNCP) by the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for three years to enhance skills of faculty in teaching geriatric nursing. In this year, we change the title to the Southern Gerontological Nursing Clinical Program to emphasize the clinical focus of this 48 contact hour onsite intensive experience.
