Eligibility & Curriculum

The UAMS College of Nursing offers a baccalaureate program in professional nursing and is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Admission to the nursing program requires successful completion of a minimum of 64 hours of required general education courses. Licensed RNs who hold a bachelor's degree in an non-nursing field only have to meet the post-baccalaureate list of prerequisites. All prerequisites may be taken at any accredited college or university.

The College is committed to the policy of providing educational opportunities to all qualified students regardless of their economic or social status, and does not discriminate on the basis of disabilities, race, color, sex, creed, or national origin.

The BSN Completion and Articulated BSN/MNSc program is offered part-time and full-time. Scheduling of classes is a two calendar year period for part-time study and nine months for full-time study. The BSN will be awarded at the end of the two -calendar year or nine month period. Click here for the RN to BSN course curriculum.

Upon completion of the BSN, application may be made to the MNSc program for students from Pathway 1 or Pathway 2. See additional admission requirements to the MNSc program, and click here for a list of the required courses to obtain a master's of science in nursing by specialty.
