The Graduate
Nursing Student Loan and Scholarship
Program
Fact
Sheet Application
The
Arkansas Graduate Nursing Rural
Loan/Scholarship program provides over
$400,000 per year in loans that can be
converted to scholarships for PhD nursing
students. After graduation, PhD students pay
the money back by teaching in an Arkansas
nursing school or college full-time, one
year for each year money is borrowed.
Full
time PhD student can borrow up to $10,000
per semester (up to a $60,000 maximum). Part
time PhD students can borrow up to $5,000
per semester. Full time under the Rural Loan
Scholarship program is defined at 9 or more
credit hours per semester. Part time is
defined as 6 or more credit hours per
semester.

Graduate
Student Assistantships are available
for guided research and teaching
experiences.

A limited number of
Professional Nurse Traineeships
from the Division of Nursing are available.

Cornelia Beck Gerontology Research Award
is given to a doctoral student engaged
in Gerontological research. Award $1,000/yr.

Carolyn Cason Scholarship. This
scholarship will support a student in the
doctoral program in nursing. It is a tribute

Field Nursing Scholarship This
scholarship supports a student in the PhD
