Graduate student
assistantships are available for guided research and
teaching experiences. Doctoral students are also encouraged
to apply for National Research Service Awards from
the National Institutes of Health.

The
Arkansas Graduate Nursing
Student
Loan/Scholarship program provides loans that can be
converted to scholarships after graduation for PhD nursing
students. After graduation, PhD students pay
the money back by teaching full-time in an Arkansas
nursing school or college, one
year for each year money is borrowed.

A limited number of
Professional Nurse Traineeships from the Division of Nursing are available
for PhD students in their last three
semesters before graduation.

The College of
Nursing has
named/endowed scholarships
specifically for doctoral students.

can apply for federal loans through the main
UAMS financial aid office
