Petition for Honor Society approved by Sigma Theta Tau

1977
Gamma Xi Chartered as 84th Chapter. 125 members were inducted. Sr. Rosemary Donley, President of Sigma Theta Tau, presents Gamma Xi Chapter’s Charter and gives charge to members.
 
1978
Gamma Xi co-sponsors the first annual scholarship focused program.
 
1981
Gamma Xi receives the Founders Award - Ethel Palmer Clarke Award for Chapter Excellence.
     
1985
Gamma Xi co-sponsors presentation by Lucie Young Kelly, President of Sigma Theta Tau International, Editor of Nursing Outlook and Perspectives in Professional Nursing.
 
1991 - 1993
Gamma Xi member, Beth Vaughn-Wroble, EdD, RN, serves as President of Sigma Theta Tau International.

Gamma Xi member, Patricia E. Thompson, EdD, RN, serves as Vice
President of Sigma Theta Tau International.

Cornelia Beck, PhD, RN, Gamma Xi member, elected to Sigma Theta Tau International Research Committee.

Patricia E. Thompson, EdD, RN, Gamma Xi member, elected President-Elect of Sigma Theta Tau International.
