Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner—fulltime (1 position)

This non-tenure or tenure track, 12-month contract, fulltime faculty position will assume teaching responsibilities within the Master of Nursing Science Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in nursing and/or doctorally-prepared
• ANCC certified or other appropriate certification for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care
• Arkansas APN licensure
• Two years working experience as an APRN preferred
• Two years teaching experience preferred

Director of PhD Program

This tenure-track, 12-month contract, full-time faculty position will be administratively responsible for advancing the College’s doctoral program. The qualified applicant will direct the PhD program and teach in the program.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing
  • Meets criteria for tenured Associate Professor or Professor rank
  • Teaching experience in doctoral nursing education program, including chairing dissertations
  • Evidence of leadership in academic programs desirable
  • Evidence of a program of scholarship and research
  • Commitment to the College’s research mission and goals

Elizabeth Stanley Cooper Endowed Chair in Oncology Nursing

As a pioneer public health activist, Elizabeth Stanley Cooper was involved in supporting specialized and innovative nursing programs. She particularly recognized the importance of nursing degree programs as well as the need for curricular emphasis in methods for the prevention and early detection of cancer.

Endowment objectives:

  • Continue to build and strengthen a program of research in oncology nursing
  • Mentor doctoral students who have a focus in oncology
  • Assist the faculty in strengthening oncology nursing education
  • Assist in developing statewide cancer prevention screening programs targeting our under-served and minority populations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing
  • Meets criteria for tenured Associate Professor or Professor rank
  • A history of extramural research funding in oncology
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level

The individual will interact closely with other scientists at the premier Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the state’s only comprehensive cancer treatment and research facility. The College has partnerships with many magnet clinical centers in close proximity to campus.
