Users of the NLRC must sign in before using any of the resources of the
lab. The sign-in sheet is located at the desk.
Please
refrain from eating in the lab. Bottled water is allowed in the lab but we
ask you to keep your drink with your back-pack. Your back-pack may be left
in the open cubicles or you may use your assigned locker. You are
responsible for any of your valuables, it is not under lock and key in the lab.
We ask you to
work with us in taking care of this area and the equipment. We have two
hospital areas (101 & 105) and one clinical area (102c). Remember to
remove bedspread to the foot of the bed and sit on the beds for physical exams
with shoes removed. Replace bedspreads, physical exam bed paper, and leave
equipment in place and tidy the area before you leave. Report any
equipment problems or other concerns to the NLRC coordinator's desk. Only
the NLRC staff has permission to locate equipment and supplies in the cabinets
and storage areas. We are glad to help you and are available for any
questions you might have.
GUIDELINES
FOR CHECKING OUT EQUIPMENT
FOR PRACTICE OR CLASSROOM DEMONSTRATION
Students and/or faculty may sign out equipment for one-week intervals and
extension can be permitted. The director of the NLRC must approve
equipment sign-out. There is some equipment that may not be removed, but
can be utilized in the lab.
PROFESSIONAL
BEHAVIOR AND ACADEMIC DISHONESTY
During skills
sessions (practice, testing) be aware of your own actions. Practice
respectful language and behavior at all times. Practice and promote
leadership skills for you and others.
TELEPHONE USE
There is a telephone on the desk for faculty and student use. If you need
to make a long distance telephone call, your calling card must be used.
PERSONAL
SAFETY
The campus emergency number is 686-7333 for medical emergencies. You must
give the operator the building, floor, and room numbers (Ed 2, 5/101).
If any student has an allergic reaction (latex or other), call the medical
emergency number. An epinephrine is available at the main desk.
If needed, the
lab workers can also do a glucose screen.
Escort by campus security is available in the evening. UAMS Police
Department phone number is 686-7777.
LOST
AND FOUND
If an item is left or lost at the NLRC, there is a lost and found box at the
front desk. Call or email the coordinator to report lost items.
