Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement and Contributions
A special award is presented to a senior student who has demonstrated leadership among students which fostered closer student relationships with the College and/or across the campus; efforts that enhanced student‑faculty relationships; and abilities that encouraged other students to participate in their professional organization.
Established by UAMS College of Nursing
Alumni in honor of Ina Swetnam, this award to a graduating senior
consists of a pin and the recipient's name engraved on the award plaque.
Criteria for this award are:
1. Demonstrated excellence in practice
with maternity patients
2. Scholastic achievement
Little Rock Department Club Award
Each year the Little Rock Departmental Club presents a cash award to two senior students. The award is based on academic achievement and leadership ability, as demonstrated in professional activities.
This award is given by Donna, Robert, and Robert Guy Middaugh in loving memory of Ms. Gloria Rauch, Professor of Nursing at UAMS College of Nursing. Ms. Rauch dedicated 34 years of her life to the pursuit of excellence in nursing care of children. To honor that pursuit, we recognize a graduating senior nursing student who exemplifies her love and professionalism.
Criteria for this award:
1. Senior who has demonstrated excellence in practice with infants, children and their families.
2. Scholastic achievement.
Awarded to the Senior class leader who:
Demonstrates the desire to contribute to the nursing profession in the future;
Has participated in civic and community activities at the state and national level
Awarded to the graduating Senior who:
Demonstrates outstanding class and clinical preparation
Demonstrates competence in nursing situations
Communicates well with other students and faculty
Is creative in the delivery of care
Looks further than the textbook for answers
Assists other students during difficult times
Awarded to the graduating Senior recognized as:
The nurse you would most like to care for you if you were ill
The nurse who has the ability to show real empathy for patients as individuals
And whose loyalty lies with the patient first.
Awarded to the graduating Senior who, throughout this program, has:
Encouraged classmates,
Given sincere positive strokes,
Been willing to share time and talents with classmates,
Facilitated group morale,
Supported other students through triumphs and trials.
Established by Veronica McNeirney, Professor Emeritus in the College of Nursing. This cash award is presented to a graduate student who has demonstrated an exceptional humanistic approach in caring for adult clients.
For the graduate student who demonstrates kindness, compassion, and gives positive encouragement to others and shows respect and loyalty to the College of Nursing.”
Established by the family of Willa Belle Adams. This cash award is
presented to a graduating MNSc student who exemplifies excellence in
nursing.
The Outstanding Future Nurse Leader Award
This cash award is presented to a graduate student who has demonstrated exceptional potential for outstanding contribution to the profession as a nurse leader.
The Faculty Gold Key Award is the highest honor presented to the graduating senior who has demonstrated academic excellence, excellence in nursing practice, the ability to be a participant leader in professional and community activities, and demonstrated personal and professional growth.
Awarded to the outstanding RN to BSN
graduating Senior.
