Welcome to the UAMS College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing. We are pleased that you have chosen to consider the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing as you prepare for a nursing career. The College is one of Arkansas’ best—both for the quality of the program and the personal interest of our dedicated faculty.
The college is engaged in activities and interprofessional partnerships across all UAMS colleges that promote scholarly excellence, research, and service to the university, nursing profession and society. The college provides students with state of the art simulation laboratories that enhance critical thinking and practical expertise for clinical preparation. This provides the student with simulated experiences where students can safely learn without compromising the safety of patient care.
The College of Nursing also has a BSN Honor’s Program for students who are interested in research and providing evidence based practice and/or are interested in pursuing the BSN/Ph.D program after graduation.
The College of Nursing offers a baccalaureate degree in professional nursing (BSN) and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Extracurricular activities of the college support classroom experiences and build professional relationships, teamwork, and pride through the Student Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International (the international honor society of nurses), the UAMS CON Gamma Xi Chapter, UAMS Student Government, and other professional nursing organizations.
