09-10 College of Nursing Blue Jeans for Books Award Winners

The idea for the Blue Jeans for Books Award came from College of Nursing faculty member Pam Tabor. The funds were raised by CON faculty and staff. In exchange for a $2.00 per person contribution CON employees were allowed by the Dean to wear blue jeans on Fridays. In Spring 2009 College of Nursing employees raised over $800.00. The funds were awarded to senior level nursing students who have an interest in becoming nurse educators.  Each student in the photo above received a $200 book stipend for the 09-10 academic year.
