These funds are awarded to students
in the
UAMS College of Nursing MNSc and PhD programs. Only graduate
students in a clinical specialty are eligible for the Professional Nurse
Traineeship funds.
Eligibility criteria for Summer 2008: Degree seeking students who are in their final 12 months of study and will graduate in
August 2008, December 2008, or May 2009. Priority for funding will go
to those students graduating in August 2008 or December 2008. If you
qualify, first complete:

the College of Nursing application AND
-
page 6 of the DHHS Public Health Service Form PHS 2271, on the web, which downloads in adobe acrobat reader.

Submit both forms to Kimberly Morton, Director of Academic Administration and Informatics (ED II, 5/110D) by Monday March 24, 2008. You can also fax the completed forms to (501) 686-8350 or mail them to the following address:

This money is awarded each semester. You must make separate application for each semester that you are requesting funds. One application does not suffice. Be sure to check your student e-mail address and the student bulletin board on the web periodically for announcements concerning traineeship application information, when/where you can pick up your check, etc.
Remember, UAMS
employees receiving the employee discount on Graduate School tuition are NOT
eligible for Traineeship funds nor
are students who already hold a master's degree
and are returning for a post master's certification.
