Professional Nurse Traineeship Funds
Traineeship
applications for Spring 2010 are being accepted now through
Friday, October 30, 2009.
Be sure to fax, mail, or postmark your
application by this deadline.
Eligibility criteria for Spring
2010: Degree seeking students who are in their final 12 months of study and will graduate in
May 2010, August, 2010, or December 2010. Priority for funding
will go to those students graduating is the above order. These funds are awarded to students
in the
UAMS College of Nursing MNSc and PhD programs. Only master's graduate
students in a clinical specialty are eligible for the Professional Nurse
Traineeship funds.
Attention: The following categories of
students are not eligible to apply for HRSA traineeship funds:

UAMS employees receiving the employee discount on Graduate School tuition

Graduate Assistants whose tuition is paid for by the College of Nursing
-
Students who already hold a master's degree and are returning for a post master's certification.

Students who are not in their last three semesters of graduate study.
Application: If you qualify, first complete both of the following forms:

the College of Nursing application AND
-
page7-8 of the DHHS Public Health Service Form PHS 2271, on the web, which downloads in adobe acrobat reader.

Submit both forms to Kimberly Morton, Director of Academic Administration and Informatics (ED II, 5/110D) by Friday, October 30, 2009. You can also fax the completed forms to (501) 686-8350 (email kjmorton@uams.edu afterwards to ask for an application confirmation) or mail them to the following address:

This money is awarded each semester. You must make separate application for each semester that you are requesting funds.
