REMINDER ON PAYMENT POLICY

Below are links to important information for registration.

Early Registration:

Hope Juniors & Seniors - TBA Announced.  Sometime the week of December 1, 2008.

Baccalaureate classes begin on Monday, January 11, 2010.

Estimated Tuition & Fees

Remember tuition and fees must be paid at on or before Registration, January 7, 2010.  There is NO payment plan.  Make your financial plans ahead of time.

Employee/Dependent Discounts

The employee is to pick up the form from the Human Resources office.  Have the form signed by the appropriate supervisors and return it to Human Resources.  They will process it and then send it to the College of Nursing.  It is then the student’s responsibility to verify that the discount form was sent to Kristine Stump by December 20, 2009.  Please call 501-686-5113 to check on its receipt.  Any forms received AFTER December 19th will not be processed until AFTER REGISTRATION.  You will be charged full tuition and the refund will not be processed until 3-4 weeks later.

Financial Aid

It will be necessary for those students who are receiving aid to sign papers at Program Orientation the afternoon after registration.  A representative from the Financial Aid office will be there with the necessary forms.

 Proofs

It is your responsibility to check your proof-dates on the web site:

Any documents that are outdated, must be updated by bringing or faxing us (501-686-7591) a copy before registration.  Any documents that are scheduled to expire on or before January 15th will prohibit you from registering.

  NO ONE WILL REGISTER WITH EXPIRED DOCUMENTS

Student Employee Health

Student Employee Health will NOT be at registration to administer TB skin tests.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING YOUR OWN TB SKIN TEST and bringing a copy of the results (whether a card or X-ray) to registration so that you may register.   Or you may fax those results ahead of time to 501-686-7591.

The Satellite on the 8th floor of University Hospital is open at various times during the week and they can administer and read a TB Skin test. Call 501-686-6565 to check on the times of operation. Be sure to wear your student I.D. You will NOT REGISTER without a copy of the results of this test and proof (copy) of an updated CPR course.  (Remember that ACLS ior the HeartSaver courses are not acceptable for CPR certification. Check the web site for the acceptable CPR courses.)

Books and Course Syllabi
Course syllabi will be linked from the Fall.  The course syllabi will inform you of the exact titles and editions of textbooks that are required.

Housing and Personal Health Insurance
Go to the UAMS Residence Hall site www.uams.edu/studentlife for housing applications.

UAMS Health Insurance Brochure

In order to register for classes in the College of Nursing students will be required to show proof of current major medical coverage (e.g., insurance card or a policy showing current coverage)  OR purchase UAMS health insurance coverage; information concerning that coverage can be found at www.uams.edu/studentlife.   No one will be allowed to register for classes, and therefore attend classes unless evidence of  health insurance coverage is provided.

Student Activities will forward information to you about the personal health insurance required for all UAMS students.  Health insurance is to be paid by separate check at registration.  If you are already covered, you will have to provide a copy of your proof of insurance.

Commencement

The date for the commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 15, 2010, 3 pm. at Barton Coliseum; the Recognition Ceremony is on Friday, May 14, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Little Rock. Your attendance is required at both of these events.

UAMS Inclement Weather Policy
If, on the morning of the scheduled registration, the UAMS inclement weather policy is in effect, registration will not be held. The registration scheduled for that day will be rescheduled at a later date.
