Betty Barentine |
|
 Betty
works at UAMS Anesthesia Pain Service (through 10/31/03) PT,
and PT at Springhill Surgery Center, NLR, Phase II PACU,
Pool. She now has 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 3
step-grandchildren. Her husband, Gene, and she have been married for 10
1/2 years. Both of them are "semi-retired" and enjoying it
very much.

Michael
Carter, BSN, MNSc, PhD
After 18 years as Dean of the
University of Tennessee College of Nursing, Michael was appointed University
Distinguished Professor and Dean Emeritus. Sarah (College of Medicine,
1965) retired from the VA and they have moved to a lake-front home in Heber Springs. He continues to teach online courses in the MSN, DNSc, and
PhD programs as well as other activities for the university. They are
working on developing practice activities here as well. |
Jessie M. Perry Clemmons, BSN, MNSc
Jessie
works at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and is a Board Member of
Jenkins Memorial Center and Jefferson County, TEA. She serves as
Director of Jefferson School of Nursing, Pine Bluff, AR. Member of
the Education Committee and Arkansas State Board of Nursing. |

Leah Carolyn
Eckenwiler, BSN
Leah graduated cum laude from UAMS in 1961. She
received her MSN from the University of Central Arkansas in 1976.
Leah retired from her position as an Occupational Health Nurse from
Tulsa Public Schools in January, 2003. She is a member of Sigma Theta
Tau. Leah is also a volunteer for the Tulsa Historical Society.

Carolyn Ann Pugh Green, BSN Carolyn is married to Dr. William Robert Green who
graduated from UAMS in 1968. They have two sons. Robert obtained his
Master’s degree in organ and resides in Dallas. Edward is a junior medical student at UAMS. |

Jean Angstadt Hayes, BSN
Mrs. Hayes is retired and currently lives
in North Little Rock, AR. Jean received the UAMS Service Award at the
Golden Anniversary celebration of the College of Nursing, April 12, 2003.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and ARNA. |

Georgia Alice Hobby, BSN

Georgia began her career of service shortly after traveling to
Rhodesia (Zambra)
Africa as a bride in 1938. There she served for twenty-four years
a missionary and teacher. Both she and her daughter attended the
College of Nursing and graduated in 1967. Georgia completed her
MSN at the University of Colorado in 1968 and returned to Zambra with
her husband. They combined their knowledge of nursing and teaching, serving in Africa until 1982. In 2001,
she was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Harding School of
Nursing.

Laura Thompson Hubbard, BSN
Laura is retiring as Associate Professor of
Nursing at Harford Community College after 7 years of service. She has had
a full and part-time nursing career for 36 years and has been a nursing
educator for 26 years. |
Carol Killer, BSN
Carol is
married to Richard Killer (retired airline pilot-Pan-Am and United. They have a son, David, and daughter-in-law, Amy. They also have two granddaughters,
Carson, now 4 years-old and Kate, who is one. Carol volunteers at a local
hospital in the Outpatient Surgical Department and plays golf two to three
days a week. |

Jill Lancaster,
BSN
Jill resides in
Memphis, TN where her husband, Jimmie, is now the Executive Presbyter
for the Presbytery of the MidSouth. She is not currently nursing as she
stays busy assisting her husband with his ministry. |

Sandy Long, BSN Sandy received her BSN in 1962.
Currently, she and her husband reside in Hot Springs. Her email is

Suellen
Marinoni, BSN
Suellen Marioni is the proud mother of three grown
children and eleven grandchildren. She has been a survivor of breast
cancer for five years and an Aqua Aerobics instructor of three. She
also enjoys vegetable and flower gardening, trout fishing, and traveling
to new places. |

Connie M. Pearson, BSN
MN, Emory University, 1967 Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Chapter 1993
First grandchild, Ryan Anderson Chapman, was born in Nashville, TN on
7/17/06 to Tom and Alice Chapman. Laura Thompson, BSN
Laura retired from teaching in Nursing July
1,2006. Her first grandchild, Hunter, was born 5/3/06 to daughter
Amy and son-in-law Dan Grulke. The Grulke family currently reside
in Fairfax, VA. Laura's son, David Hubbard was married to Maria
Jose Tapia-Gejardo on January 1st of this year in Constiucion, Chile.
The newly-weds reside in Takoma Park, MD.

Sarah Yada, BSN
Sarah is
married to Bob, a retired civil engineer. Their son, Greg is also
a civil engineer with the Corps of Engineers in Little Rock. Daughter-in-law Kim,
serves as a LCSW. They have two grandchildren: Devon, 10 years old and
Kara, seven. Sarah's daughter Susan is a LSW and works for DHS in
Fayetteville. |
